Analysis on the consumption trend of coatings in China
through the comparison of relevant data, this paper analyzes the consumption trend of domestic architectural coatings, industrial coatings and special coatings. For a long time, China's coating industry has counted the production and sales volume of coatings based on resin types (i.e. 18 categories), which is similar to that of Japan and Germany. Its advantage is that it is based on the coating film-forming material, which is very important for calculating the resin consumption It is expected that the development of various resins will be beneficial, but its disadvantage is that it is unable to understand the consumption direction of coatings. As early as more than ten years ago, people of insight suggested that comrades engaged in information work investigate this topic, but they finally gave up because of the wide range of involved areas and heavy workload. In the past two years, the coating industry and related industries have often published articles to analyze the consumption direction of coatings in China, and even there are reports on "the distribution of coatings in China" in foreign journals. However, its source of information is not official, but from some people. It is understandable that the review data of various consumption movements are different, but some data are too different to meet people's wishes
the relevant data collected in recent years are introduced as follows, and some of my own views are analyzed

4 consumption is moving towards China's coating industry. After 50 years of development, The output has ranked fourth in the world, and the product structure has entered a new era based on synthetic resin. During the "Eighth Five Year Plan" and "Ninth Five Year Plan", through joint ventures, cooperation, technology transfer and other forms, the quality of some products in the coating and industry has reached the world advanced level in the 1980s and even 1990s. However, we should see the following gaps: ① with the loss and fault of scientific and technological personnel in state-owned enterprises, the ability of independent development shows a shrinking trend; ② A considerable number of state-owned enterprises are struggling for various reasons, resulting in the outflow of many high-quality coatings and the shelving of excellent equipment; ③ Some coating consumption departments are disturbed by various improper factors, resulting in the development of coatings not in the normal direction, but in a backward trend. Now the consumption trend of coatings is reviewed as follows
4.1 architectural coatings are generally interior wall, exterior wall, waterproof, cement floor and other coatings. Among them, 52% are walls, 8% are exterior walls, and 9% are waterproof coatings 5%, cement floor accounts for 3%, and other architectural coatings account for about 27% 5%。 There are many articles about interior and exterior wall coatings, but they are often difficult to gain popularity and guide consumption. In the past decade or so, the latex paint introduced by key paint factories failed to be accepted by consumers, and the very low-grade 106 and 107 interior wall coatings were very popular. Nowadays, the vigorous publicity of the latex paint produced by Sino foreign joint ventures has led to the recovery of the entire latex paint market, but due to the limitations of national conditions, latex paint with a scrub resistance of more than 800 times can only be in vain. The qualified products with scrub resistance of no less than 100 times and the first-class products with scrub resistance of no less than 300 times gradually replaced 106 and 107 coatings. It seems that the promotion of civil coatings should not only meet the needs of consumers at different levels, but also be down-to-earth and hard to promote, and pay attention to some artistry and flexibility. As for exterior wall decoration, we should promote the application of exterior wall coatings with bright colors and good durability, so as to reduce the load of buildings and change the face of the city. The cement floor of the factory should promote thick paste floor coating, and the floor coating with good pollution resistance and scrubbing resistance should be developed for the family concrete floor, so as to reduce the load-bearing of the building and the complexity of construction
4.2. Industrial paint ① wood furniture paint: at present, there are six types of nitropolyurethane, alkyd, acid curing amino, UV curing, etc., which are mainly used in wooden doors and windows, wall panels, wooden floors, furniture and other items. Due to the differences in consumption levels and habits, the use types are different. In recent years, the varieties of furniture coatings have shown diversified development, and the market competition is extremely fierce. The specific performance is as follows: a. the number of manufacturers specializing in the production of resin for coatings has increased, and there is a large choice. Some manufacturers specialize in the supply of light colored alkyd resin, hydroxyl acrylic resin, synthetic fatty acid modified polyester resin, aromatic moisture curing polyurethane resin, so that the details of the operation of the workshop type wood coating factory are clear and increased. b. There has been a great development of matting agents, slip enhancers, defoamers and dispersants for wood paint. The sellers of additives have increased their technical services, which has led to the rapid development of paint making technology. C. Oily colorants have gradually developed into alcohol colorants and solvent colorants, and the color sharpness has been greatly improved. d. The development of water-based coatings in some areas has attracted people's attention, but due to the influence of performance and price, the progress is slow. China's nitrocellulose paint reached 52000 tons in 1997, most of which were used in wood varnish, and a small part were used in automobile repair and metal products. When painting nitrocellulose wood paint, the general solid content is 15%. By using low viscosity nitrocellulose and increasing the amount of resin, the construction solid content can reach 30%, even 40%. There are few reports about the development and modification of nitrocellulose paint abroad. There are reports that diisobutyl phthalate plasticizer is used to replace dibutyl phthalate, and nitrocellulose paint aqueous dispersion is developed for UV curing system. (Germany) the leading technology of wood coatings is water-based dye, water-based topcoat of water-based primer. In particular, water-based dyes, UV curable water-based enhanced varnishes and paints, and high-volume acid curable thermal spraying systems have been developed in the UK. ② Automotive paint: automotive paint represents the development direction of the paint industry. At present, China's automotive paint (OEM paint) is 60000-70000 tons, including 18000 tons of car paint, which is basically controlled by several joint ventures (such as the domestic joint ventures of BASF in Germany, Kansai in Japan, and PPG in the United States). The original paint for ordinary cars - heavy vehicles, medium-sized vehicles, light vehicles, and mini vehicles - is about 40000 tons. Automotive touch up paint is a major consumption field, which is difficult to estimate correctly because of the many varieties used (nitro paint, alkyd paint, modified alkyd paint, etc.) and the scattered distribution of construction sites. However, referring to foreign data (among European industrial paints, OEM automotive paint accounts for 12.7% and touch up paint accounts for 19.7%), it is estimated that there will be about 40000 tons of automotive touch up paint in China, and there will be great development in variety and technology. ③ Household appliance coatings: in the past, almost all household appliance coatings were amino alkyd paint. In recent years, with the development of powder coatings, it has gradually replaced amino paint. In 1998, the total output of powder coatings in China was about 70000 tons, and that of thermosetting powder coatings was 60000 tons, about 70% of which were used in household appliances. 4.3 its prototype is the special coating for extreme pressure function test of Timken experimental machine ① anticorrosive coating: it is estimated that the domestic production of anticorrosive coating has reached 180000 tons in recent years, among which phenolic antirust and alkyd antirust coatings with low price are still widely used in general anticorrosive coating, while the supporting system of heavy-duty anticorrosive coating has been greatly developed in recent years. For example, the service life of offshore oil production platforms is required to be more than 10 years. The inorganic zinc rich or epoxy zinc rich plus two layers of polyurethane finish paint currently used has a film thickness of 14um, which has been used for more than 6 years, and it is estimated that the service life can reach 15 years. Another example is that a metal structure factory of a petrochemical company manufactures storage tanks and other equipment for the oil field, which requires the use of thick paste epoxy ester primer with a dry film thickness of 127um, and the top coat is polyurethane paint with a dry film thickness of UM. These paint supporting systems can be produced by domestic large and medium-sized state-owned enterprises and individual township enterprises with technical strength. However, due to the loss of professional talents in some state-owned enterprises, inflexible sales means and lagging technical services, the market is occupied by joint ventures, private enterprises and township enterprises. According to rough estimates, China's epoxy zinc rich and inorganic zinc rich coatings are about 10000 tons. There are about 60000 tons of epoxy anticorrosive coating, 30000 tons of polyurethane coating and 15000 tons of powder anticorrosive coating. In the anti-corrosion coating system, the combination of epoxy coating will be the main force of heavy-duty anti-corrosion coating, which has great development prospects. Among them, we should pay attention to the moisture curing polyurethane coating made by using the latest technology. It does not produce CO2 in the reaction and has the advantage of not foaming during the coating of thick film. In addition, the curing of this kind of coating is greatly affected by relative humidity and less affected by temperature. Therefore, it can be cured at low temperature and has the difficulty of coating to the wet surface. They can be applied at 5 ℃ - 50 ℃ and 30% - 98% relative humidity. They can be used for Bridge oil storage tanks, chemical plants and offshore oil production equipment. They can be used as primer, intermediate layer and finish coat. ② Road marking paint: domestic road marking paint includes ester paint, phenolic paint, chlorinated rubber paint, acrylic resin and hot-melt route paint. Among them, ester gum, chlorinated rubber and acrylic resin are used more. The choice and development of road marking paint varieties are closely related to the understanding of highway management departments on coatings. ③ Heat resistant paint: heat resistant paint generally refers to the paint that can maintain appropriate physical and mechanical properties without discoloration and falling off of the paint film at a temperature above 200 ℃. Heat resistant coatings are widely used in chimneys, high-temperature steam pipes, high-temperature furnaces, engine parts, exhaust pipes and other objects. For the current domestic coating varieties, the better organic heat-resistant coatings should be silicone coatings. The heat-resistant coating market used by the Ministry of military industry and aerospace of China is mainly divided by Tianjin and Xi'an paint plants, and the civil heat-resistant coating is mainly concentrated in the motorcycle muffler, automobile engine and boiler industries, which are then signaled by the disposer
